Unlike most dentists who specialize in either Pediatric Dentistry or Orthodontics, Dr. Plunk is professionally trained in both fields. This means his patients receive expert, professional care from a dually qualified, Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and Orthodontist.

From your child’s first visit, you will hear Dr. Plunk note the occlusion (bite) and development of their teeth. At their regular dental cleanings, he will evaluate their orthodontic condition and/or readiness for any early preventive orthodontic treatment or for full treatment when all the primary teeth are lost. With the benefit of watching your child’s dental growth and development over several years, Dr. Plunk can determine the optimal time for Orthodontic treatment if needed, yet another benefit of his dual training.

Most of our practice is comprised of children and teens that have been dental patients since age three and have chosen to continue their relationship with Dr. Plunk as their Orthodontist. However, Dr. Plunk also treats patients who have been referred by their family dentist only for orthodontic care. In addition, some of our Pediatric patients seek orthodontic care outside our office while maintaining their routine care with Dr. Plunk, usually because they live a significant distance from our office.
